Order & Refund Policy

If you are purchasing a pre order, it will ship 6-8 weeks after the preorder closes unless stated otherwise in the product description.

Regular orders on the website, please allow 2 to 3 weeks for shipping.

We are not held responsible after orders have been picked up by their respective carrier.

We are no longer doing personalization. 

Variation in color, light, positioning, and texture of paperbacks is normal.

Right of withdrawal - EU ONLY

Your 14-day right of withdrawal

You have a 14-day withdrawal period from the moment you receive your order to cancel your purchase, without giving any reason and without penalty, as established by EU Directive 2023/2673 and the consumer protection laws applicable in your country.

How to exercise it

Fill in the form below. You will receive an automatic confirmation by email once your request is registered. The refund will be processed within the legal deadline that applies to your purchase.

Your request will be reviewed in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and our store policies. If your withdrawal request is approved, any eligible refund will be processed through Shopify using the original payment method within the applicable legal timeframe.

Please note that if the request is on a product that has been shipped the customer must pay the price for shipping the product back.

When the right of withdrawal does not apply

EU Directive 2011/83/EU lists several categories of goods and services excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal. The sections below cover the cases that may apply to this shop — remove the ones you do not sell.

Digital content downloaded with your express consent

When you purchase digital content (downloadable files, streamed videos, online courses with immediate access, software licences, etc.) and expressly request its immediate supply, acknowledging that you lose the withdrawal right by doing so, the 14-day withdrawal period no longer applies — Art. 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU. The express consent is collected at checkout.

Services started during the withdrawal period at your request

When you ask us to start providing a service before the 14-day withdrawal period has expired, you may still withdraw, but you owe us a pro-rated amount for the work already performed — Art. 14(4)(a) of Directive 2011/83/EU. Your express request is collected at checkout.

SARA’S MERCH STORE

If you are purchasing products from my merch store, they are shipped directly from a Third-Party company.

If you order anything else from my website you will be charged two different shipping prices:

– One for the third party company to create and ship your products

– Another one from my store for me to ship your order

The shipping day under merch is for MERCHANDISE ONLY, if you added another product the regular order shipping policy is the one that will follow the rest of the order.

Sara Cate is not responsible for any issues or problems with shipping or products purchased through the third party.

SARA’S BLIND DATE

We are not offering  refunds or exchanges on Blind Books purchases.

If you order more than 1 blind book, we can not guarantee you will not get the same one.

SARA’S GIFT CARD

Once the gift cards have been redeem we not be offering refunds on them.

BOOK DAMAGES AND ISSUES

Please inspect your order upon receiving it and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged or if you receive the wrong item(s) so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Returns are eligible for defective or damaged items if you contact us within 7 days of receiving item (We will check your tracking number to determine the day of delivery).

For refunds, please email cs.saracatebooks@gmail.com with a video showing us your book condition in order to determine if your book is eligible for a refund within 7 days. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT PICTURES OF THE PRODUCTS.

If a book is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong title or format, we will evaluate the issue and make it right for you.

If your book does not have any of the damages we listed below it will not qualify for a refund and in that case, a refund won’t be issued and an exchange of the product won’t be possible.

WHAT QUALIFIES AS DAMAGED? 

●  A tear/rip/cut or visible scratch on the front of the book or spine

●  Residue or marks on the front or spine that cannot be removed

●  Large dented or crushed corners

●  More than one ripped or bent page affects the text on the pages

●  Production defects (such as a missing finish)

●  Off-center digitally printed edges where part of the design is cut off 

DOES NOT QUALIFY AS DAMAGED

●  Scratches, marks, or residue on the back of the book

●  Page bleeding or unevenly sprayed edges

●  White spots or scratches on sprayed or issues with the top or bottom edge of the book

●  Creasing or folding on the top or bottom of the book spine

●  Wavy pages

●  Ripped or damaged blank pages

●  Slightly blurry digitally printed edges

●  Off-center digitally printed edges where the full design is showing

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:

Due to the cost of international shipping, there will be no refunds or returns.

Customers are also responsible for any import fees/import fees.
